Tips for Camping with Kiddos!

I always knew I wanted to share my love of camping with my kids one day and all the magic that comes with it. Like the excitement of exploring the outdoors, staying up late around a campfire, making s'mores and sleeping under the stars. That's not to say its all rainbows and magic but with a little planning, you can have a fun trip full of special memories and adventures.

So, if you're brand new to camping or thinking of camping for the first time with little kids, here are are couple of tips I've learned along the way.

> The tent is going to be a super fun place for them to relax and play so have fun with blankets and bedding to make it a nice spot. I gave up on sleeping bags a long time ago so we actually push together some sleeping pads and create a bed with sheets and a down comforter. It's like a real bed and I can actually sleep which is key.

> Depending on where you are camping, bring toys that can easily be washed off because at some point they most likely will be used for digging or buried in the dirt.

> They love to have their own camping chairs and flashlights! Also, I usually always bring glow-sticks which are always fun after the sun goes down.

> We tend to just eat a lot of snacks while camping but breakfast is definitely a meal I love to cook. Pancakes are always easy and tasty paired with fruit or chocolate chips, or oatmeal. For a fun dessert, I put a tortilla in a pan and then top with chocolate chips, peanut butter and banana slices, covered by another tortilla. Then cook until the chocolate chips are melted. Its kind of like a crepe but easy and tasty.

> And, this is a no brainer but the kids are going to get dirty, ha! So, just bring a lot of changes of clothes.

Thats all for now, wishing you lots of outdoor fun and happy adventuring!
